Is Your Club Pro Fully Certified?

If your Club Pro is fully certified, then their name will be posted on the list of certified coaches that appears on Tennis Canada's website. To check this out, please go to List of Certified Coaches | TPA (tpacanada.com). If your pro's name is not listed there, then they either do not have current certification (which includes having a valid background check as well as completion of the Respect In Sport Modules) and/or is not a current member of the TPA.

In order for an instructor/coach to maintain their fully certified status, they are required to attend a professional development activity every 2 to 4 years depending on their level of certification. This important feature ensures your pro is up to date with regard to teaching methodology.

Job Title: Next Level Summer Camp Director

Location: Kingston, ON (Noble Tennis School)

Job Description: This camp is for minimum Intermediate level players, maximum 8 kids per week, ages 10-14. In addition to leading on and off-court activities during the camp, the Director is responsible for camp organization, administration and communications. The Director will work with Tony Roth of the Noble Tennis School on the development and delivery of the camp curriculum.

 

Depending on candidate qualifications and availability, employment includes additional teaching of Kingston Tennis Club members and Noble Tennis Programs.

 

Employment Dates: The Camp runs 9 weeks from July 3, employment can be summer-only, or it can commence in May or June for camp preparation and additional teaching duties, and can run through the Fall until club closing in October.

 

Requirements: Suitable qualifications, experience and ability to provide effective training for players beyond the beginner level.

Job Title: Part-Time Court Monitors (multiple openings) .

About the Club: Don Mills Tennis Club is a six court, City of Toronto, permitted community tennis club. We proudly operate Don Mills Tennis Club and are committed to providing a safe and healthy experience to all tennis patrons. Under the direction of the Board, tennis court monitors assure that the club operates in a welcoming, professional and efficient manner. We have been active in the Don Mills/Lawrence area for over 50 years and have a large active membership. 

 

Job Description: The Court Monitors will be available for the 2023 summer outdoor tennis season and will report to the Clubhouse Director. 

  • Answer members inquiries
  • Responsible for checking memberships, collecting guest fees, and answering telephones
  • Assist with Club Events 
  • Manage court bookings
  • Regularly monitor conditions ensuring the tennis courts are in an acceptable state
  • Perform minor maintenance as necessary to enhance court experience (sweeping leaves, drying courts, collecting garbage etc.)
  • Compile regular reports as may be required within scheduled requirements
  • Facilities management – open/close/maintain clubhouse, courts and patio area
  • Oversee inventory supplies and report to the Club House Coordinator
  • Enforce rules and follow policies and procedures that ensure the safe, effective and efficient operation of the tennis facility.
  • Report any issues related to facility operations, court maintenance and safety to the Board members
  • Clears all patrons out of the facility during an electrical storm, tornado warning or other emergency situations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by either the President or Club House Coordinator
  • Keeping the club house clean and tidy, empty garbage/recycling inside and outside, sweeping/mopping floors/ keeping kitchen clean and tidy
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene of the washroom facilities.
  • Strives at all times, to maintain positive relations between himself/herself, tennis staff, tennis patrons and the community.

Job Description: The tennis professional/instructors role will be for the 2023 outdoor tennis season and will report to the Head Tennis professional beginning in April and ending in October. They will be an important part of the coaching team and must be able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, have an understanding of progressive tennis curriculum, and adhere to the Quality Standards for Kid’s Tennis. The instructor has an ability to make a difference in the player, grow the sport at all stages of learning and ready to play an important part in their development. This person has a tremendous passion for the game, shows a caring and positive attitude for all students, encourages improvement, understanding of active participation and planning of lessons, appropriate challenge for the group as a whole, and most importantly produces a fun environment to help support tennis for life. 

 

Duties: The Tennis Professional role will be to coach within spring-fall junior programs which include daily after school clinics, summer camp half day 1-4pm, potential for  summer tme 9am-12pm coaching clinics and may also include evening/weekend adult/junior clinics with the potential to coach private lessons based on qualifications and demand. Milton Tennis Club is a non-profit, volunteer run tennis club serving the community since 1923. We are located in one of the fastest growing communities in Canada. We are looking for a Club/Office Manager to help the volunteer executive provide better service to our membership. This position is seasonal from May 1-September 30, 2023. The North York Tennis Association (NYTA) with over 35 years of experience has become the leader in junior tennis development in Canada. The NYTA atmosphere is fun filled yet goal oriented. With over 500 kids participating in the academy the program has won awards from Tennis Canada and Ontario Tennis for every level of tennis. The NYTA has been designated by Tennis Canada and the Ontario Tennis Association as a high performance tennis development center. All three locations are centrally located in North York. The NYTA offers tennis programming year round to our students with after school programs during the winter, fall and spring and half and full day programs for the summer.

 

Position:

Our immediate need is for instructors to work the Recreational Junior Program from 4 – 6 pm Monday to Friday and 5 -7 pm on Saturdays. Our immediate need for instructors to work the Adult Program on Tuesday and Thursday 7pm- 11pm. The position will have the opportunity to work individual hours with members outside of group hour times depending on court allocation and lesson requests.

 

The NYTA has 3 locations ( NYTA NORTH- 2975 Don Mills Rd W., NYTA SOUTH- 120 Bond Ave., NYTA EAST- 230 Cassandra Blvd.) operating in North York within a 10 minute drive of each other all with junior and adult programming. 

 

This position will report directly to the Director of Coaching Tyler Prescott (Coach 4 and Tennis Canada Coach 3 Course Facilitator).  Hours will vary but this will be a full-time position.  Compensation will be competitive.

 

The ideal candidates will be high energy coaches that will be a great addition to our team of professional tennis coaches. The candidate must be willing to learn and continue developing their knowledge. The Director of Coaching at NYTA is Tyler Prescott (Coach 3 course facilitator). The expectation is constant improvement and retention of coaching skills.

 

All candidates must be:

 

  • Punctual, reliable, organized and able to work independently
  • Personable and outgoing
  • Be able to maintain focused high energy for long periods of time
  • Ability to engage students while following template of lessons provided by the Director of Coaching
  • Neat appearance with appropriate tennis attire
  • Able to take instruction and follow leadership for template of lessons
  • Able to feed 500 balls per hour
  • Flexible to fill in at different locations depending on the needs of the program
  • Work year round

 

Candidates are encouraged to apply from outside the sport of tennis if they have experience in high performance sports training, fitness or have worked in recreational settings in the past. NYTA has a mentorship program that grooms coaches for the Tennis Canada certification system lead by Tyler Prescott.

OTA Instagram Beloved Canadian tennis star Bruno Agostinelli Jr. passed away tragically in 2016 at the age of 28. His younger brother Gianluca lovingly remembers his brother in this tribute story.
